Vice President / Director of Operations Alan J. Hart, J.D., Vice President and Director of Operations at NorthStar Economics, was born and raised in Menomonee Falls, near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He received his BS degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and his Law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Mr. Hart spent several months operating his own legal practice before establishing his own law firm with two other attorneys in Madison. |

Mr. Hart spent seven years in private practice, practicing law with an emphasis on litigation at the circuit court level. He has represented hundreds of clients in a wide variety of cases at the federal, state, appellate, and municipal court levels. His areas of practice included business and other civil litigation, personal injury, criminal and juvenile court defense, mental health law, estate planning, bankruptcy, and real estate transactions. Operating his own legal practice and serving as a founding partner and principal shareholder in a law firm has given Mr. Hart the background and experience in office management, accounting, document drafting, and staffing necessary to fulfill his role as Director of Operations at NorthStar Economics. Mr. Hart has conducted research for and provided contributions to several NorthStar publications, including an economic impact study for the University of Wisconsin - Platteville, Wisconsin High-Tech Opportunities - a paper that was principally investigated and authored by NorthStar Vice President / Director of Research Dennis K. Winters, and published by the Wisconsin Technology Council in 2001, Vision 2020: A Model Wisconsin Economy - also published by the Wisconsin Technology Council, and the 2003 NorthStar Guide to Growth and Venture Capital for Wisconsin. In addition to handling the administrative functions of the business, Mr. Hart designs and creates graphics for numerous NorthStar publications and presentations, and does thematic mapping for various NorthStar projects. He also developed and maintains the NorthStar Economics web site. In his spare time, Alan Hart is active in community theater. |
