PROJECT IN PROGRESS:
FISCAL FLOWS ANALYSIS FOR SHEBOYGAN'S MEAD PUBLIC LIBRARY
 

NorthStar Economics has been retained by the City of Sheboygan and the Mead Public Library board to analyze the fiscal flows associated with Mead Public Library's affiliation with the Eastern Shores Library System and its use of the EasiCat cataloging system.  The study will be completed by the end of October 2009.

 

FEATURED STUDY: AN ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY STUDY FOR THE MICHIGAN UPPER PENINSULA/WISCONSIN BORDER REGION

    

Michigan's Upper Peninsula (UP) and the surrounding area is in economic transition.  A call to action led to the funding of a regional innovation grant from the U.S. Department of Labor for the development of a 17 county (consisting of the entire UP, plus the adjacent Wisconsin counties of Florence and Marinette) economic study with actionable implementation activities critical to regional economic survival.  Over the course of a full year, NorthStar and MSA Professional Services conducted research, gathered stakeholder input, and formulated strategies for regional economic and workforce development that are specific, measurable, achievable, and realistic and with a timeline.  The study resulted in strategies, tactics and action steps in 7 key sectors: 

  • Higher Education 

  • Business Growth & Development

  • Education & Workforce Development

  • Natural Resources

  • Tourism & Seasonal/2nd Home Residents

  • Infrastructure

  • Health Care
